It might be the end of the vacuum-north-to-south era. Yup. We’re ripping up the white carpet and putting down hardwood floors. I wanted to do this a year ago, but Mr. Wonderful was concerned about moving the great white wail. As we are considering a major move out of state, the realtor hinted that “your house won’t sell without hardwood floors,” so Mr. W. totally changed his mind. (wtf)

We custom-designed this lovely home of ours eight years ago, and we have never regretted one decision on the layout or decor.(Well, maybe one.) We purposely put tile all around the great room so the grandchildren could run all over the house without setting their tiny toes on our white wool. That back-fired, as the children decided that we are way too”anal,” so they don’t visit.

We don’t walk on the white stuff ourselves, as we like the pile to be fluffed 24/7. Workmen get it; friends think we’re weird (and we are). So now we will conform, and put down a floor soon to be covered by an area rug that we will have to vacuum, and we’ll be right back where we started. There’s something wrong with this picture. (Maybe the realtor would like to chip in as it was her jolly idea!)

Anyone want to buy a lovely home with brand new hardwood floors overlooking the golf course--a three-minute walk to the Intracoastal? No contingencies:) Any realtor want to work for 2%?:)
